@sameoldstory I started that book recently and stalled reading it, but I liked the premise… Hope to pick it up again later this year.

@digitalsnow I don't follow the seedling/sprout/tree model myself but I would keep notes in folders based on their topic, not their status.

That way, you can maintain the same URL for a note throughout its maturity and anything you or someone links from outside keeps working into the future.

I made a change today for new users to essentially require setting the “about me” text for a Micro.blog profile. After you confirm signing up, you’ll get this page with some random profiles. I hope that it’ll help with discovery in the future and also weeding out non-humans more easily.

Yeah, Mastodon makes it really easy to post via API. Presumably Bluesky as well, but I haven't looked into this myself. I do know some people make bots on there, so I'm guessing it must be easy enough.

I try to put some effort into thinking about my folder/site structure so I minimize link rot in the future and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

Other than that, I use a lot of tags and wikilinks to connect things.

I have this problem where I regularly sleepwalk and hallusinate weird shit when in this semiconscious state.

I've gotten quite used to it over almost 40 years but it sometimes introduces nasty problems when I move stuff and don't know where to.

I have once again lost quite a few things from my night desk and haven't been able to find them :D
