@chergert it's always ibus! There's something in Audacity (built with not exactly a high-quality UI toolkit) where after I enter a few characters of text into Audacity I can never type letters into it again. Sure enough, when this happens, I discover that ibus-daemon is spinning forever, even after quitting Audacity! (But unlike you I don't have the patience to investigate and simply switched to Ardour.)

Today is the first of August. Where the hell did the first two thirds of 2026 go??? 😵‍💫

@brennan I do. I write the majority of my notes from a dedicated page that's kinda like a social media post UI (screenshot attached). I occasionally write longer, standard posts from my phone too, but that's rare and usually shorter posts, like the Linkception post from last night - that was written on my phone.

Most often I use my phone for notes or adding drafts when I have an idea.

We're definitely living in the stupidest timeline. 🤕

In England und Wales sind jetzt zwei Tests zugelassen worden, die es ermöglichen #Endometriose nahezu sofort zu diagnostizieren. Ich hoffe inständigst, dass diese Tests bald auch hier eingeführt werden und vielen Frauen damit langjähriges Leid und Schmerzen erspart werden können.

Dank an alle, die helfen konnten und wollten. Hier das Resultat: Wir brauchen einen Höregräteladen der Signia vertreibt und die Connexx Software hat, mit der man die Testphase neu setzen kann. Leider ist es nicht einfach hier auf dem Lande einen Laden zu finden, der am Samstag geöffnet hat, eventuell muss es bis Montag warten. Wir rufen gleich mal mögliche Läden an.

With that the trial period can be reset to another 4 weeks. We have a list of possible shops in the vicinity that we will start calling as soon as they open today. Problem is that here on the countryside, many do NOT open on Saturday, so it may have to wait until Monday.

I'm always amused by how we try to binary thinking to social issues ( ketchup [yes, americans will fight over ketchup], mayo [we fight over that too], gender)

Then there is programming, ostensibly is binary - very deterministic. We fixed that. We added AI and now it's all on a scale and non-deterministic.

I don't know what the point of this post is. Way too many lemonheads today.
