@Wupsala Playlists don't work with sandboxes, because we can't open files listed in another file; I have no idea what ampache is—it seems it's a media streaming service, which is something I don't use and am uninterested in supporting.
Yeah, I guess they are scraping anything visible regardless of its status 😦
They are also blatantly lying on their website, they say a "verified status" label is "where a creator connects their own account and opts in" but they've put it on loads of accounts that clearly haven't opted in.
You can understand why @nayibbukele started with a sweeping reform of the courts and still enjoys 94% support in El Salvador. https://www.riotimesonline.com/bukele-approval-94-percent-record/
p.s. SocialDB.xyz also have a website which lists people from various social media platforms and implies that it represents them.
As far as I can tell they don't actually represent anyone, they just scrape profiles and put them on their website. Most of the people listed don't even know they're listed.
Please don't be fooled, no one is being paid to post on here, no one is doing sponsored posts.
Friend is certainly a unique product that some people will hate, but I find the decisions fascinating. Each device is randomly assigned a voice and personality that you can’t change. Is it a real product or an experiment? I guess both!
Wired has a story about the new Friend 2.0 pendant and its creator, Avi Schiffmann:
"That analog component is important to Schiffmann. He says he doesn’t have an internet connection in his home. He listens to music on a record player. He’s shooting a documentary about himself on Kodak Ektachrome."
@sameoldstory I followed a search link to Reddit yesterday and was actually a little shocked that it put a modal over the article with no way to dismiss it. It’s like a paywall, but you pay by signing in.
Encountered a #Poppler bug report with an attached sample PDF document that takes over 45 seconds to render its first page on my fastest computer, so I took the opportunity to profile it with #Sysprof : https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/poppler/poppler/-/work_items/1572#note_3592829
@groomsy Yeah, it’s disappointing to see these platforms take another step back. I assume most people posting to X (or LinkedIn, or wherever) are just not thinking much outside of that particular community.
