From Pibow to Picade and everything in between!
Pimoroni are 14! So the team put their heads together and thought that we should discount over 1400 products. So they tasked me with picking a few that I personally own and writing about them.
Buy the micro nippers, mine are still good six years later! https://blog.pimoroni.com/its-our-birthday-save-up-to-40/
what the heck is "Veezu"? Is this basically poundshop Uber, with all the horrible treatment of laws and drivers? or is it actually like a real taxi company? I've not heard of it.
@snailerotica I'm not sure what you mean. Everyone on the list has opted-in personally. I'm not in charge of removing anyone, they would have to submit a new PR to remove themselves.
@kentpitman @salixsericea I would gently suggest you have it completely backwards: the AI bros are the cult. We're simply taking a stand that we're not interested in playing their weird game and will continue to design & build software as software has been designed & built.
There are quite a few people here I've talked to personally and many folks already accept the cognitive distance they need to use LLMs at $DAYJOB because it's been forced on them. Such is the present moment, and it sucks.
Dave Winer blogging about a new WordPress → RSS.chat integration from Matthias Pfefferle:
"Matthias didn’t need to tell us about what he did until it was done. That my friends is how the web works, that’s what I’ve been trying to show you, and now it has been shown. In a way the clock has gone back to the world before Twitter when events like this happened pretty routinely."
The easiest way to tell if a platform is open or not: do you need to ask permission to integrate with it? Open: RSS, IndieWeb, Bluesky, Mastodon, Micro.blog. Closed: Threads, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube.
@LaserdiscTurtle it's with a lot of retro tech youtube channels that they started strong, but ended up only producing shallow algorithm-pleasing content that is completely uninteresting :/
