@ebassi @nekohayo @chergert @pwithnall finding "I simply did not know how to write in Vala / gtk" and "I did not 'vibe code' or anything like that," in the same paragraph is just...wow.
Like: after two months with just an induction plate, I finally have a cooker; it’s been installed, and it works. Of course, it also has some defect in the gaskets for the oven and grill doors, which will require somebody to come check it out and fix it—or even replace it. So by next week I might not have a cooker.
@ebassi @nekohayo @chergert @pwithnall wow this is something else. we should really hire a community psychologist to research what is behind this weird behaviour on a massive scale...
@nekohayo @chergert @pwithnall the fork button is right there! Call it something else, and publish it on slophub or whatever. Why open a merge request?!
After nearly three months of work, I finally accepted Zeno’s kitchen paradox: the list of things to do to finish the job constantly halves, but it never truly ends
@boeckmann That was my biggest concern, too, but so far the NUC 16 has been completely silent. That said, I’ve only used it for normal everyday tasks so far and haven’t pushed the CPU to its limits yet. But even during installation, updates, unpacking files, etc.—tasks that really put a strain on the CPU—you can’t hear the fan at all!!
@Larvitz you know, it would be kind of rad if we added "commercial breaks" but it's just reads trending mastodon posts through whisper. Or even popular blog that you could read later. I boosted your post talking about a 'free desktop' tv station so to speak, but I dont know how I would generate content from gnome and kde's youtube channel and turn it into a station...
You know what would be cool?! Jellyfin server of #freedesktop content and then turn it into a tv channel! Free Software TV channels, maybe? It's like bringing old school to ..uh.. now school? Watch it on my #postmarketos tv ;)
I've been playing around with home assistant and it's just fascinating! I'm working on getting rid of alexa and google from our home (although i reckon google nest is gonna stay) but what is fascinating and frightening is the level of data that is exposed. The granularity is kind of nuts. Like I could react to someone playing a song or movie and do something. The level of surveillance I can do in my own home is crazy.
#surveillance #homeassistant
@hlrx I don't have a personal PeerTube account, I do have a @MakerTube account for Buddies of Budgie, but I'll see about requesting an account tomorrow and throwing a few more euros at them, that way it can be on PeerTube too and I won't feel bad about consuming disk space.
