I still need to work through my binder and add the cards into the system but I have first few pages populated and a couple of first notes added.

🚧 One important thing: it's not responsive by any means yet. It works nicely only on larger screens. That's a future todo item once I get all the data loaded in!
The tournament at Harrenhal seems to be the bloody Omphalos of the A Song of Ice and Fire world: just about everything that formed their current world seems to have got started there. I wonder what actually happened there?
Maybe this will tell me.
Not really reading the whole thing, just skimming through, but here's an interesting tidbit.
"I’m not ready to announce the specifics, but we will start monetizing this year."
Curious to see what they will come up with!
"The way I look at it is there’s already money being made on this network. We’re sending lots of traffic to people who then convert that traffic into subscriptions.. I think our job is to just help more of that happen."
Someone from their team already mentioned some form of revenue sharing. Hmm.
Worth perhaps noting that the number of "daily likers" on Bluesky fell under one million for the first time since March 2025, as all metrics continue to decline.
In an interview with The Verge, Bluesky's CEO sees a common goal between the fediverse and the Atmosphere/Bluesky, can see them co-existing side by side "long-term".
"We have not talked to Threads. We’re definitely talking to Mastodon and ActivityPub. They definitely feel we’re very aligned. Our missions are very aligned."
@DekOfTheYautja the problem is that probably 85% of the time I don't want to literally go back, I want to go to the parent screen of whatever page I'm on, and if Android doesn't consider the parent screen to be where the back button will take me, it's literally impossible to use any gesture at all to go back to that screen.
On iOS I can go to the parent page in the app by swiping in from the left, or I can switch back to the previous app I was in by swiping from left to right on the bottom (using app switcher), or I can go home by swiping up.
And you can argue that's more things yeah, but Android combines all three of these things into one back function, and if that one back function isn't going to do the thing I want then it's impossible to do the other thing. I need choices!
TIL four people died on the Dreamworld Thunder River Rapids ride on 25 October 2016. Kate Goodchild, her brother Luke Dorsett, his partner Roozbeh Araghi, and Cindy Low. Two children on the same raft survived.
It wasn't a freak accident. A water pump failed three times that day and the ride stayed open. No water level sensor, no working emergency stop, no engineering risk assessment in 30 years. A $2,000 to $3,000 sensor would have caught it.
The coroner called it a "systemic failure" with "frighteningly unsophisticated" safety systems. Operator Ardent Leisure was fined $3.6m.
