@numericcitizen It is sometimes tempting. 🙂 I think a single app would be worse, though, and it’s nice that people can replace parts of this with custom clients.

@drmike "not speaking the language" is a weird way to say "not speaking English". Most people (especially the younger generation) speak English in Austria, especially in the bigger cities. Same applies to Germany. In the more Eastern countries it gets more difficult.

@theTangentSpace I'd love to be able to recommend micro.blog as a solution, but I can't.

I don’t know who planned this, but I am ashamed to witness 22 EU countries turning against Spain. While Spain managed to solve the situation in Ceuta in less than 48 hours. Praise and unity would have been the right call. Shame on you, 22.
