The European Commission wants to remove the ANNOYING COOKIE BANNER that you have to deal with, but Google is lobbying against this. Now, EU Member States like Germany & France want to keep it.
It is time for the European Parliament to advocate to keep their proposal (Article 88b) and remove the cookie banner, because its people that are directly impacted by this.

@chergert it's always ibus! There's something in Audacity (built with not exactly a high-quality UI toolkit) where after I enter a few characters of text into Audacity I can never type letters into it again. Sure enough, when this happens, I discover that ibus-daemon is spinning forever, even after quitting Audacity! (But unlike you I don't have the patience to investigate and simply switched to Ardour.)
@brennan I do. I write the majority of my notes from a dedicated page that's kinda like a social media post UI (screenshot attached). I occasionally write longer, standard posts from my phone too, but that's rare and usually shorter posts, like the Linkception post from last night - that was written on my phone.
Most often I use my phone for notes or adding drafts when I have an idea.
