Reuters says that three months after the Australian ban, “8 in 10” teenagers are still using social media. It’s still very early, so I don’t think we need to read too much into it yet. There has been a shift:
"Children’s continued social media use took place even as account ownership declined to 42% from 52%, with “statistically significant” reductions across YouTube, Snapchat and TikTok in particular, the report said."
Kinda funny how the @EUCommission published opinion from 2026-06-02 that, while written in a friendly way, makes it very clear that Germany and 8 other countries should really get rid of their internal border controls now that so many measures have been taken, has gone mostly unnoticed by German media.

@WiredDifferently @ridwan For whatever it’s worth, I’m currently eating my own dog food and using Micro.blog private notes for everything. That way I can just copy/paste from within the Mac app. Before that, used Ulysses extensively for notes and drafts.
@Drwave I finally read Dune for the first time about six years ago and thought it was incredible. I’m prepared for Messiah and the rest to be a step down… But yeah, the movies are so good. Visually stunning alone.
@TerryBTwo yeah, I can write in an underhanded fashion too, which I do when I'm using less absorbent paper, but it's far more comfortable for me to write "overhand" like most lefties, I think.
@mijndert yeah, strong agree there. I think it's something like 10% of the population are lefties, so that's probably why. My wife and I are both lefties, but she does everything (except write) with her right hand. She's a traitor! 🤣
Another pile-up accident with injured people at the Dutch-German border, caused by the unnecessary (and according to 3 german court decisions illegal) German border checks. In April this even caused a death. When will Germany start to respect the #Schengen agreement again?
