@ainmosni @masek @koehntopp thing is: I am not a sysadmin (anymore). I don't know what I don't know when it comes to a lot of stuff, and the chances that I'll ruin a home setup that is a collection of random bits from random corners of the internet are pretty high.

Using a single vendor NAS with its own supported OS and UI gives me a higher chance of keeping the baseline intact. Of course I'll ruin one of my custom docker containers on there occasionally, but those aren't critical to the main system.

But because the Synology DSM hides the command line from me, because I am not touching certain innards, which I'd need to touch if I self-build something, I have a certain peace of mind.

I get that week back 3 hours at a time thanks to shorter build time. I.e., was worth it.

Awesome this took almost a week but both puu_amd64 and puu_arm64 Buildroot targets link fully now with wild-linker.

@cassidy this is great to hear! getting every aspect of the shell to eventually respect dark/light mode would be a huge accessibility win.

i can use light mode, but only outdoors in full sunlight. but in that situation dark style widgets cause the same headaches light mode normally causes me. many people experience this as a kind of micro-headache… it adds up.

mixing them never makes sense. #a11y
